Swim Team

The Windermere Swim Team is a competitive swim program designed to challenge participants of all levels and age groups. Swim Team is Windermere's largest program and is a great deal of fun. With hard work, dedication and most importantly fun, we hope to build on past years success. The swim team prepares athletes for competition by focusing on stroke correction and racing skills.

The team practices Monday through Friday with evening practice now available on Monday nights to accommodate working families or kids in camp programs.

Throughout the summer we will compete against other ALPS pools in our division. We either travel to another pool or host the meet ourselves as we compete in the 'A' division. The meets really are a lot of fun as the kids get a chance to see how they have progressed over the summer. After the Wednesday night meets have concluded, we swim at Section Finals, where we compete for the 'A' division championship. The coaches of each age group choose 2 boys and 2 girls to swim each individual event. They then choose 4 boys and 4 girls to compete as a relay. Their selections are based on performance as well as dedication. If our swimmers qualify for Finals or Consolations, they are then required to compete in the ALPS Finals. Please consult the ALPS schedule at www.jumptoalps.com or WAC August Calendar for exact dates and locations of events.

Time trials will be conducted at the beginning of the season to determine the fastest swimmers as well as to measure improvement throughout the season. Swimmers in 1st heat will be selected based on fastest time. Exhibition heats will be selected based on participation, attitude and ability.

To join the Swim Team , participants must be in Blue. Please consult the weekly schedule for daily practice times.

6 & Under

The 6& under swim team is a program for youngsters under the age of six who either do not wish to compete on a weekly basis or need some help developing their strokes, strength or endurance. This program is a fun way to expose the young swimmers to the world of swim meets and competitive swimming.

Over the course of the summer, we usually attend at least one 6&under swim meet and the children whom are willing and able may also participate in a Wednesday night meet. Details of these meets will be announced as soon as they are made available.

To participate in the 6&under swim team, children must be in Green.
